What a day in 2nd & 3rd Class. World Book Day 2025.
As a school we did one Book throughout the classes; After The Fall by Dan Santat.
We explored themes, character and compared to characters in other books, the illustrations, the cause & effect, the history of Humpty Dumpty and the metamorphosis of his character in the story.
As it it also Engineers' Week, we incorporated some engineering skills into World Book Day.
First, the students had to design snd create a "safer" wall for Humpty Dumpty to sit on.
Then, we used our aeronautical skills to design the most aerodynamic paper aircraft. We made many attempts, changing our designs, trying them out, testing, comparing, questioning until we had the best model we could make.
Finally, we had the whole school Paper Airplane Competition.
Ned and Ollie qualified for the final from our class and Ollie went to be the school champion 👏👏
